The Rubino family decided to reach out to their community by holding a 5k race and 1-mile walk to benefit their families fight to keep Reece at home and in the care of his family. They created Reece's Roundup and all funds from the race go into the Reece Rubino Fund. They had help from their close friends to get the race started and organized so it could continue for years to come. This year will be the 7th year for Reece's Roundup and many more friends have been made over the years and these new friends have committed to helping out this family. These funds help supplement all the things that their health insurance will not cover and are a great blessing to this family. They had over 500 racers participate last year!! It was a great turnout!!

About Reece

Reece Rubino was born in 2007. At 3 months old, he was diagnosed with Type 1 Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Jeff and Lesa Rubino researched every possible detail of this disease and what was out there in the medical field that had the most research in this area and would benefit Reece and his condition. They decided on a clinical trial at Stanford School of Medicine but the initial cost of the first 18 treatments in as little as 18 months would have taken them under financially. The trips are now once a year to Stanford School of Medicine for Reece and his family.
